About Continuous Belt Bar Screens

Home
Continuous belt bar screens are fairly new self-cleaning mechanical bar screen that are being used for screening applications. The continuous belt bar screen is equipped with cleaning elements that are fixed to an endless belt used to removed objects from the waste stream.  The number of elements attached to the belt is determined by the depth of the channel. The cleaning elements include hooks that stick out to augment the screening capture of larger object and rags from the wastewater.

This bar screen will accommodate bar spacing openings between 0.5 to 60 mm or (0.02 to 3 inches [metric system conversion]), therefore the bar screen can act as a fine screen or coarse bar screen. Since the cleaning of the bar screen is done in a continuous fashion, debris is removed from the channel at a pretty fast pass. This provision allows for a greater screening capacity from the unit.

The continuous belt bar screen elements are either supported with a lower sprocket or a guide rail. The screen is designed to have the ability to pivot out of the channel for maintenance. One disadvantage to this bar screen is the fact that carry over may occur because of the front clean/ rear return configuration.
